Engineering and construction

Engineering plans in Quebec, New Brunswick, the N.W.T. and Nunavut

JPC Consultants inc. designs and prepares engineering plans in Quebec City and across Quebec for your civil and structural engineering works.

Our approach

Plans backed by calculations and by site reality

We prepare plans based on site conditions, applicable loads and project requirements. Every plan is backed by calculations, technical criteria and a clear understanding of site constraints.

Our support continues throughout design. We present the possible options with their advantages and limits, so you can choose with full knowledge.

Retaining structures are a particular area of expertise: gabions, reinforced soil (MSEW), sheet piles, soldier pile and lagging walls, overburden and rock anchors, concrete block walls and other systems.

Our team is made up mainly of qualified engineers. We remain available during construction to answer questions from the site.

  • Temporary and permanent earth retention
  • Slope stabilization
  • Diversion channel and cofferdam
  • Traffic control plans

Understanding

Why engineering plans?

An engineering plan turns calculations into clear instructions for the site. It shows the dimensions, materials, construction details and conditions to meet so that the structure carries the expected loads.

For temporary works, such as excavation support, a cofferdam or a site access, the plan also sets out the method and work sequence. These structures do not stay in place, but they must be safe for their entire service life.

A clear plan then makes estimating, bidding and site supervision easier.

For retaining structures, the plan takes into account the height to retain, the soils in place, surcharges and available space. These factors guide the choice between gabions, reinforced soil, sheet piles, soldier pile and lagging walls or other systems.

Types of works

The engineering plans we prepare

Our plans cover permanent structures and temporary works, in both civil and structural engineering.

  • 01

    Foundation plans

Foundation and structural plans based on the site's loads and soils.

  • 02

    Temporary earth retention

Temporary retention plans for excavations and trenches.

  • 03

    Permanent earth retention

Gabions, MSEW, sheet piles, soldier pile and lagging walls, concrete block walls and more.

  • 04

    Anchors

    Overburden and rock anchors.

  • 05

    Geogrids and geomembranes

Reinforcing structures with geogrids and geomembranes.

  • 06

    Slope stabilization

Solutions to stabilize slopes and embankments.

  • 07

    Diversion channel and cofferdam

Temporary works for working near water.

  • 08

    Traffic control plans

Traffic control plans for construction work.

Who we serve

Plans for contractors and project owners

We prepare engineering plans for contractors, public bodies, developers, mining companies and private owners.

Temporary works are a big part of our work: temporary earth retention, cofferdams and site accesses. These plans allow the work to be carried out safely, following a clear method.

Plans can also be prepared from existing documents, which we analyze, adapt or complete. We present the possible options, with their advantages and limits, before finalizing the design.
